Medical oxygen is used in many medical treatments. In particular, it is used in all cases of hypoxia, when the oxygen level in the patient’s blood is insufficient. This may be due to a pathology affecting the patient’s lungs or particular physiological situations such as those related to altitude.
Oxygen can also be used to treat certain conditions such as carbon monoxide poisoning, which requires intensive administration of high doses of oxygen.
